Super Bowl Sunday wasn’t just about the game - it was also about the annual wave of commercials that took over before kickoff and throughout the night. As always, a few ads fumbled badly, but a handful executed a perfect game plan and marched straight into the end zone. The Seahawks may have took home the trophy, but when it comes to the ad game, let’s break down who really stood out from the pack…
10. Superhero Belt | Toyota
Simple, but so effective. This heartwarming ad features one family's journey with the RAV4, with a cute inside-joke that spans decades. It plays on what matters most to us, those little moments and human connections, and tells a great story well. Not the only Toyota ad to grace screens this Super Bowl, but its our favourite.
9. Alexaaaa+ | Amazon Alexa
Amazon tapped into AI anxiety with its Super Bowl ad. The spot introduces Alexa+ through Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky as it enters their home. Hemsworth appears in full macho mode, only to unravel as he lists all the hypothetical ways Alexa+ could kill him. The ad pokes fun at common AI fears without talking down to the audience, and also subtly showcasing the usefulness of Alexa+ in the home.
8. Can I Get A Six Pack Quickly? | Anthropic and Claude
Taking aim directly at rival ChatPGT's newly unveiled advertising options, Anthropic works hard to cleverly position Claude as an ad-free AI system of choice with their Super Bowl ad. We're here for a little friendly rivalry from brands, but only time will tell if Anthropic and Claude are writing cheques they can't keep though... is ad-free AI sustainable for any business?
7. New Home | Google Gemini
Google Gemini made a smart move with its Super Bowl ad. At a time when there’s widespread resistance to AI, the spot leans into emotion, using the voices of a mother and her young son as they talk through plans for their new home. The ad highlights Gemini’s practical uses for visualising spaces, as the mother shows her son what his new bedroom could look like. It’s a thoughtful way to sidestep the broader AI controversy.
6. The Choice | Pepsi
Secretly an ad for Coke? Pepsi's Super Bowl offering, directed by the award-winning Taika Waititi, opens on a polar bear taking the iconic Pepsi Challenge - and choosing Pepsi Zero Sugar. We follow our protagonist's struggle with this taste revelation, referencing a 2025 big screen viral moment. It's the ultimate 2026 take on the cola wars.
5. America Needs Neighbors Like You | Redfin x Rocket
Earnest ads sometimes feel out of place at the Super Bowl, but Rocket and Redfin got it right with a warm, relevant spot about the power of neighbours. Two families from different backgrounds clash at first, until a missing dog brings them together, leading to real friendship. With the line “America could use a neighbour” and Lady Gaga’s version of “Won’t You Be My Neighbour” it’s a perfectly judged spot for America right now.
4. Unavailable | Squarespace
Squarespace collaborated with Emma Stone for a black-and-white ad in which the actor tries to claim her name as a website. The spot is humorous, but Stone’s performance gives unexpected weight to the idea of owning a web domain. Squarespace even went as far as registering multiple domains (including emmastone.com) where visitors can find a message from Emma herself.
3. Release Your Tight End | Novartis
A fresh, fun take on a big issue - Novartis calls on a squad of legendary NFL Tight Ends to unveil its new prostate cancer screening blood test. The ad features former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Coach Bruce Arian's own story of prostate cancer, and has been getting big visibility across US media outlets. Tackling mens health in a way that engages, and doesn't alienate, it's a definite winner for us.
2. Pringleleo | Pringles
Sabrina Carpenter teamed up with Pringles for a cheeky Super Bowl moment that casts her in a storybook romance with a man made entirely out of Pringles. The fantasy ends when “Pringleleo” is overwhelmed by a horde of screaming fans, punctuated by the brand’s iconic line, “Once You Pop, the Fun Don’t Stop.” The execution perfectly aligns with Pringles’ playful brand personality.
1. Jurassic Park... Works | Xfinity
This one might make it to the Super Bowl Ad Hall of Fame, it's such an outstanding piece. Jurassic Park at long last, uh, finds a way, with the help of Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and of course, our new hero Xfinity. This reimagining of a classic - and much-loved - story, with an all-star cast is surely a contender for 2026 MVP.
